You might think it’s impossible, or at very least difficult, to get a preschooler or toddler to do some meaningful craft. This group of children all have one thing in common and that’s, their attention span can be quite limited.

Armed with this knowledge I have always looked for a particular type of craft for my children. Any project I take on with them must be completed rather quickly. For me the sweet spot was always 15-30 minutes, as after that time they would always start wandering about. A second criteria is often the splitting point with us parents. I prefer the project to be messy as I believe that it’s the creating of the mess that keeps the children involved. Some parent however hate the messy stuff, but each to their own I guess!
So next time your looking for some craft projects for pre-schoolers keep these two criteria in mind and see if you can get your toddler to produce a master piece at the crat table before they decide to expand the craft to the rest of the house and furniture.
